Kerry Volunteer Centre is passionate about strengthening the capacity and resilience of Volunteer Involving Organisations and Volunteers throughout Kerry through the provision of training, bespoke consultancy and mentoring services. Since its establishment in 2003, Kerry Volunteer Centre has been developing and delivering training workshops, one to one mentoring sessions and bespoke virtual and in person consultancy services to Volunteers and Volunteering Involving Organisations (VIOs) throughout Kerry, their staff, Trustees and management committees. Training is delivered by online and in person throughout Kerry by the Kerry Volunteer Centre staff and externally engaged experts.
Kerry Volunteer Centre’s one to one mentoring service is available to the staff of Volunteer Involving Organisations on all aspects on Volunteer Management and Leadership, this support is completely free to registered VIOs and cost €60 per hour to non-registered VIOs. When circumstances require Kerry Volunteer Centre to charge for training workshops, the costs is significantly and deliberately subsidised, furthermore registered VIOs benefit from an enhanced 35% discount on all training workshops that have an accompanying fee and request for fee waiver from VIOs are granted whenever possible. As demand requires modular based Volunteer Leadership training is delivered annually focusing on all aspects of best practice in involving and managing volunteers a minimum of 15 attendees from VIOs are required for the training to proceed.
Kerry Volunteer Centre collaborates extensively with national regulatory agencies and subject matter experts to ensure that Kerry’s VIOs and Volunteers have access to local in person opportunities to develop their awareness, understanding and knowledge of best practice, legislative requirements impacting their operations and good governance mechanisms . Since 2003 the Volunteer Centre have collaborated with Charities Regulator, Data Protection Commissioner, Lobbying Regulator , HSE Suicide Prevention Team, TUSLA Child Safeguarding Information Officers, Vincentian Partnership for Social Justice, Volunteer Ireland and Carmichael.
