A timely and useful series of Ready and Able’ community empowerment webinars have been developed by Kerry Volunteer Centre for Kerry’s community and voluntary groups. The webinars which will be delivered in the coming days, weeks and months ahead have been purposefully designed by Kerry Volunteer Centre to support, guide and reassure community and voluntary groups in Kerry within the Phase 2 Covid-19 realities which they find themselves.
The initial two webinars, being provided free of charge, due to the Department of Rural and Communty Developemnt Covid-19 funding for Volunteer Centres. have been warmly received by local groups as they provide voluntary and community groups with essential guidance on how to continue to work or to be ready to re-open their services within Phase 2 guidelines.
The first ‘Ready and Able’ webinar will take place from 11am to 12.30pm via Zoom on Wednesday 10th June.
The Aim: To clarify the guidelines, priority steps and actions to be undertaken by community and voluntary groups in response to the current Covid-19 context to safeguard volunteers, employees and service users.
Outcomes: At the end of the session it is expected that you will:
1. Be able to define the challenges and risks that your group needs to manage.
2. Be able to explain national re-opening requirements
3. Be able to self-evaluate your organisations readiness to reopen
4. Be able to identify the practical steps that you can now take to prepare for future reopening
The second ‘Ready and Able’ webinar will take place from 11am to 12.30pm via Zoom on Wednesday 17th June
The Aim: To simplify and explain the operational plans, processes, and documents that community and voluntary groups need to implement to safeguard volunteers, employees and service users.
Outcomes: At the end of the session it is expected that you will:
1. Be able to prepare the necessary processes, forms, and checklists that your group needs
2. Be able to draft a Covid-19 Response Plan
3. Be able to identify the relevant online resources to support the upskilling of staff on Covid-19
4. Be able to map out how you can implement and review your Covid-19 Response Plan
