Kerry Volunteer Centre is delighted to share with you news of its involvement with the Carmichael Centre’s Good Governance Awards. This new initiative recognises and encourages adherence to good governance practice by Community, Voluntary and Charitable organisations in Ireland.
It is expected that these inaugural national awards will facilitate the promotion and recognition of good governance practice across all sizes of Community, Voluntary and Charitable organisations. As such the judging criteria has been developed to allow for entry by small volunteer led and managed groups to organisations with a turnover greater than €500,000.
The entry process is very simple and straight forward and can be done online at https://goodgovernanceawards.ie/submit-entry/ the closing date for entries 16th September 2016.
- The organisation must be an Irish (i.e. its registered head office is in the Republic of Ireland) not-for profit organisation with social purpose objective. It can be any one of the following organisation types;
- Incorporated organisation – Company Limited by Guarantee
- Registered Charity
- Un-incorporated organisation, – community/voluntary group or association
- Social Enterprise.
- A signed copy of the organisation’s most recent Annual/Directors’ Report and Financial Statements – for 2015/2016 must be submitted in pdf file format before the closing date of the 16 th of September 2016.
- No other additional supporting documentation is required or will be assessed
The Awards Ceremony which will take place on the 18th October will highlight governance excellence in the not-for-profit sector in Ireland. The Good Governance Awards are developed in partnership with Volunteer Ireland, ICTR and the Wheel, supported by Davy and Mazars.
The web site www.goodgovernanceawards.ie which will act a central hub for this initiative and will contain the entry criteria and categories, information on the panel of judges of which the Kerry Volunteer Centre Manager, Geraldine Sheehan is one, and guidance on how to take part in this important initiative.
