Magic Moments Ahead

Did you know that there  is a wonderful series of free online mindfulness and chair yoga sessions to take place for 15 minutes each weekday starting from 30th November to 18th December? These morning mindfulness sessions from 11am – 11.15am and afternoon chair yoga sessions from 2pm – 2.15pm will be led by Susan Barrett and Maeve Ferris respectively.  To benefit from these magic moments of relaxation and grounding simply  go to the Healthy Kerry website at www.healthykerry.ie or Facebook page @healthycountykerry at 11.15am and 2pm.

The online series is made possible from the success of and feedback from the week-long Kerry Mental Health and Wellbeing Fest held in October.

Kerry Volunteer Centre is delighted to be part of the interagency committee with Kerry County Council, the HSE, NEWKD, SKDP, Kerry Mental Health Association, Jigsaw Kerry, IT Tralee and to have been able to organise the free session for you to enjoy in the comfort of your own office, home or where ever you may be at 11.15am or 2pm weekdays from Monday 30the November. The sessions are a key component of Kerry’s Keep Well campaign which complements the national government #KeepWell campaign.

The #Keep Well campaign focuses on five ways to support community wellbeing, which are:

  • Keeping active and being outdoors – even during the winter, it is important to help physical and mental health and wellbeing.
  • Staying connected – staying connected with people and addressing isolation as person-to-person connection is important to our wellbeing.
  • Switching off and being creative – switching off and being creative or learning something new, getting back to nature and finding ways to relax can help our general wellbeing.
  • Eating well – by nourishing your body and mind we can positively impact our physical and mental wellbeing.
  • Managing your mood – equipping people with information on where to go if they need support

We sincerely hope that you enjoy and benefit  from the mindful  and chair yoga moments in the weeks ahead. Keep Well.
