It will come as little surprise that the National Spring Clean is Ireland’s most popular, well recognized and successful anti-litter initiative. Taking place during the whole month of April and now in its 17th year. The effort and enthusiasm of the National Spring Clean volunteers has ensured the campaign’s real triumph and success down through the years. it’s a fun family friendly volunteer opportunity to participate in with your local communities and to take responsibility for litter.
Taking part in the National Spring Clean is very straight forward. Organize for a clean up of your local area, to take place any time during April, and register your event online, by phone, fax or post. To register online click on the ‘Sign Up’ icon below. Once you have registered you will receive a FREE clean-up kit from An Taisce.
Register your event with An Taisce online by clicking on here and filling out our online registration form, call 01 4002219 to give the details of your event over the phone, or if you received an application form (previous years registers will automatically receive these in the post, or your local council may have some) please send it to National Spring Clean, Environmental Educational Unit, An Taisce, Unit 5a, Swift’s Alley, Francis Street, Dublin 8.
Last year (2015), an estimated 500 tonnes of litter was collected of which 35% was recycled. In the current era of climate change the more we recycle, the more we reduce our carbon emissions, so by taking part in National Spring Clean we are making a difference!
