The Charities Regulatory Authority (CRA) in conjunction with Kerry Volunteer Centre will be hosting a FREE information event on November 4th, 7pm - 9pm at The Parish Centre, Park Road, Killarney.
Who should attend?
If your charity is in the process of registration with the Charities Regulatory Authority you are encouraged to attend this useful information session.
Individuals who will complete the online registration and annual reporting process on behalf of a charity also are encouraged to attend.
It is advised that a maximum of 2 people from each charity attend the event.
What will be covered?
The event will provide practical guidance on the process of Registration and Annual Reporting.
Three members of staff from the CRA including a senior member of Management will be available for a questions and answering session.
Organisations that had a valid CHY charity tax exemption number from Revenue on the 15th of October 2014 are automatically deemed to be registered with the CRA and do not need to apply for registration. If your charity is a CHY charity, click here to find out about your registration.
Organisations operating in the Republic of Ireland wishing to become a charity must apply to the CRA to be added to the Register. To apply to become a registered charity, click here.
Under section 52 of the Charities Act, all registered charities are required to send the Charities Regulatory Authority an annual activity report. The report is due not later than ten months after the end of the financial year to which it relates.
If your charity is a CHY charity and was automatically registered, the CRA will still need to know your end of financial year date, so you can be issued with your Annual Return Date for Section 52 reports.
If you are creating an account online with the CRA you will be asked to supply your charity's end of financial year date.
If you have supplied the CRA with your financial year end date via your online charity account, the CRA will be able to send you a notification about your annual return.
